Littleton, CO – August 22, 2024 – The U.S. Secretary of Defense recognized Sherpa 6, Inc., a leading provider of engineering and technology services to commercial and governmental organizations, with the 2024 Employer Support Freedom Award. The award recognizes employers for exceptional support of their employees who serve in the National Guard and Reserve and is the highest honor in a series of employer recognition awards given by the Department of Defense.

In a ceremony today, Mr. John F. Sampa, National Chair for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, presented the award to Joe Dames, Sherpa 6 Founder and Chief Executive Officer.

This recognition is a testament to the dedication and care we extend to our employees and their families and a reflection of our core values of service and excellence. The Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award was instituted in 1996 under the auspices of Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR). ESGR is a Department of Defense office whose mission is to gain and maintain employer support for Guard and Reserve service by advocating relevant initiatives, recognizing outstanding support, increasing awareness of applicable laws and resolving conflict between employers and service members.
