Littleton, CO – May 22, 2024 – Sherpa 6, Inc. was recently awarded a $1.9M contract from the Department of the Army’s Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Program for further development of Tactical Assault Kit Proficiency (TAKPro) system. The contract started in March and extends through September of 2025. This is a Phase II SBIR award received in part from the success of our Phase I SBIR contract completed in November of 2023. We are proud to partner with PAR Government Systems Corporation, combining our expertise to deliver a solution that meets the Army’s evolving needs.
TAKPro extends Sherpa 6’s Watchtower Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM) solution, which supports provisioning and monitoring the end user devices (EUDs) that make up the TAK ecosystem for both military and civilian users. Watchtower securely manages and simplifies deployments and is designed to support numerous mission CONOPS and end-user capability sets in classified or unclassified enclaves. It provides a single ecosystem for device configuration management (CM), provisioning, governance, security, application management, and analytics. It has demonstrated its utility as a fielded EMM solution with more than 40,000 users to date, making it an ideal solution to facilitate the collection and visualization of insights as it relates to Soldier proficiency.
Sherpa 6 CTO Jeremy Myrtle stated, “We are thrilled to continue pushing the boundaries of tactical technology with the development of TAKPro. This cutting-edge system harnesses the power of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) to revolutionize how Soldiers interact with and master the ATAK system. TAKPro underscores our commitment to delivering innovative, mission-critical technologies that enhance the capabilities and effectiveness of our Warfighters.”
TAKPro leverages advanced ML to address a critical technology gap identified by Army Soldiers and Sherpa 6 personnel within the Nett Warrior (NW) program. Nett Warrior empowers Warfighters with enhanced situational awareness (SA) through the integration of innovative technology, including the Android Tactical Assault Kit (ATAK). ATAK is a Command and Control (C2), SA, and mission planning mobile device application used by more than 400 military and public safety organizations.
