Once upon a time…..
Four words that open a world of possibilities. You can go on adventures you never thought possible, experience magic beyond explanation, explore unlimited worlds. You can solve crimes, fall in love, be the hero, or even find healing.
I wasn’t always a reader. I always wanted to be a reader and to love books. However, I would get easily bored with reading. I just didn’t care about the stories. Then, when I was 8 years old, my father invited me into the most amazing world of Narnia. I was a daddy’s girl, and he was a workaholic. When he offered to read The Chronicles of Narnia with me, I jumped at the chance to spend time with him. I sat on his lap, and we took turns reading. We joined Aslan’s army and fought against the White Witch. We traveled to the end of the world on the Dawn Treader. We saw the creation of Narnia and, eventually, the end. When our time in Narnia was over, we explored Middle Earth in The Hobbit. We rode in barrels, escaped giant spiders, outwitted trolls, and found a ring. I was officially hooked. Now I can’t wait to walk into Barnes and Noble or the library and come face to face with shelves upon shelves of possibilities.
I love flying with dragons, riding on unicorns, swimming with mermaids, talking with animals, making deals with the fae, exploring dystopian worlds, imagining what ifs in a well-known story retold, and other fantastical things. Life is hard. I love escaping into impossible worlds where anything is possible. I love the smell and feel of having a physical book in my hands. I love the thrill of turning the page and seeing how much is left. I also love the convenience of always having my entire digital shelf with me when I don’t know what I’ll want to read next. I love being able to read my kindle even if there are no lights. But my favorite, when it’s the right narrator, are audiobooks. I love the way it pulls me in. I love the way I can keep reading while driving, doing the dishes, or working out.
I am a BOOKDRAGON. It’s like bookworm but way cooler.
