I always thought it was important to be involved in sports throughout my life to stay healthy. I ended up becoming very interested in running on my own; my grandmother lived 2 miles away from me growing up, so I got in the habit of running to and from her house. I ended up joining the track team my freshman year, running a 12:11 2 mile in Varsity Track and Field Districts.
I also swam on the Varsity Swim Team and was invited to Districts to swim Breaststroke individually and to States as a team. I played on the Varsity Men’s Golf team, going to States for three years and winning as a team my Senior year.
My parents pushed me to drop the other sports and focus on golf. I ended up playing every day while traveling year-round for tournaments and I ended up getting two holes in ones. I played golf at James Madison University for one year however, I quit because I was not passionate about golf.
I started the journey of pursuing what I craved to experience and what motivated me every day, and now I really enjoy snowboarding and adult figure skating competitions. I am a member of the Washington Figure Skating Club, and I will soon be teaching group figure skating lessons! Sports have been a huge part of my life and has taught me how healthy competition throughout my life have continued to serve my health and fulfill my life in such a positive way!
